Progress on New Addition

The new addition to the Stewart Library Building is taking shape. In this photo taken on January 20 you can see the steel structure in place and the yellow insulation material for the brick and trim has been attached. The open area that extends up the side will be glass….



Steel for the addition

The structural steel for the new addition arrived today. They are wasting no time. The four corners of the addition are already in place. The skeleton of the new structure and the stairway will go up over the next week or so. It will be an interesting process to watch….

Working on Chimneys

Masons from Knowles Industrial Services are working on the exterior masonry of the building. They are removing the degraded mortar and will replace it with new mortar mixed especially to match that used when the building was constructed 116 years ago. Here you can see two men working on lifts…
