Refinishing the floors

The Stewart Library Building Preservation Group is working on a number of follow-up projects in the SLB. Over this Veteran’s Day weekend the floors in the Private Library and the first floor hallways have been repaired and refinished.  The work will be complete and the floors ready for use by Monday morning.

In this picture you can see that the walls, particularly the portraits, were covered with plastic to minimize dust. The crew from Nickerson & O’Day and Dickel Floor Corporation took great care to protect the building and contents from the work.

Thank you to the many people who made this and other projects possible with their donations to the Stewart Building Preservation Fund. Your support is vital. All donations are important, regardless of size. With your gift you become part of the work to preserve the Stewart Library Building for many years to come.

Wonderful work on the floor refinishing project !!! As with every phase of this effort, it is carefully and thoughtfully done. We are so grateful to all who have labored long and patiently to make this happen – and so proud to be a small part of it !
